Scholarships Now Available for the 2009 National Service Coordinator Conference

Service coordinators needing financial assistance to attend the 2009 National Service Coordinator Conference at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers in Chicago, IL from September 20-23, 2009 will have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to cover their conference registration fees.  A printable .pdf version of the scholarship application can be found here.

The AASC scholarship fund was created with the endorsement of the AASC Board of Directors to assist service coordinators to reach a higher level of performance by participating in the conference and enhance their knowledge so they will, in turn, contribute to their organization, the profession as a whole and be better able to serve their residents. A limited number of scholarships are available. The scholarship covers the cost of registration only. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the attendee.

In order to be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a member of AASC in good standing
  • Have the approval of his or her supervisor to attend the full conference
  • Be employed at least six months as a service coordinator
  • Provide written documentation from employer proving financial hardship
  • Have not previously received a scholarship from AASC within the last two years
  • Stay at the conference hotel (required)

Scholarship application deadline is 5 p.m. EDT July 15, 2009.
