The 13th National Service Coordinator Conference, being held October 5-8, 2008 at the Hilton Washington in Washington, DC is the premier training event of the year. This year’s theme—Leading the Way in a Time of Change—will set the tone for an exciting and enlightening week of networking with colleagues, community building with like-minded peers, as well as learning and flexing our public policy muscle as we convene on the Hill to meet with key legislators. Here are a few highlights of this year’s conference:

Keynote Speakers—Each day the program will begin with a keynote speaker covering both the elderly housing and family housing communities and a nationally recognized motivational personality.

Workshops—Again this year we will program for service coordinators working in all resident constituencies, regardless experience level. And don’t forget to share all your pre-conference information with your facility managers, property owners, management company staff and QA supervisors because we will have tracks for them as well. Earn up to 19.5 CEUs by attending the Conference. And don’t forget, The National Service Coordinator Conference is a HUD-approved training.

Exhibitors—Gather information and meet the representatives from companies who can provide your residents with the resources they need—education and job-assistance, medical and mobility supplies, medical services and prescriptions, home health and personal care, meals and nutrition, legal/financial/insurance products, housekeeping and transportation services.

Afternoon on the Hill—On Tuesday afternoon, October 7, we will provide group transportation for a special session with congressional and agency leaders in the Caucus room at the Canon Building, the House of Representatives Office Building.
